Measuring the pulses of active volcanoes
We push boundaries in the application of technology in volcanology. This is focused on novel sensor and drone tech for measuring gas release from active volcanoes, with a recent emphasis on implementation of low cost Raspberry Pi hardware in this context. We are technology driven, aiming to develop reliable field operable systems. The overall goal, however, is scientific: to use the aquired data, in parallel with modelling studies concerning underground gas flow, to better understand volcanic dynamics, particularly for basaltic systems. |
